The CSA N286-12 training course is a 2-day course.
The course outline is as follows:
To build understanding of the regulatory authority, framework, structure, content
and expectations of the quality management applied to the Canadian Nuclear
facilities in order to enable the participants to:
- Build working knowledge.
- Plan and implement effective systems and processes that comply with the requirements.
- Measure and monitor conformance.
- Establish requirements for subcontracts.
- Maintain documents and records to demonstrate compliance.
Training will cover CSA āN286-12 quality management standards through:
- Power point presentations,
- Exercises,
- Group discussions,
- Reviews and Questionnaires

- Canadian Regulatory Requirements
- Introduction to CSA Nuclear āNā series of standards.
- Application of QA Standards to Canadian Nuclear Facility
- CSA N286-12 Focus, Scope and Structure.
- Management System Principles and N286-12 Generic Requirements.
- Requirements for Design, Procurement and Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Decommissioning phases
- Requirements for Verification of work, Completion Assurance and Turnover.
- Requirements for Health, Safety and Environment.
- Requirements for Manufactured Items.
- Requirements for Pressure Retaining Items.
The course will be delivered by experienced trainers and senior specialists in Quality Assurance in the Canadian CANDU industry.
